Easy level

The easiest way to level up is to repeatedly enable the 'Add 1000 experience points' code. Each time you level up, you will hear a noise along with the sword.

Easy experience

Note: This trick only works with Aragorn. At the start of each level, go to the options menu and change difficulty to hard. Kill one enemy, then return the difficulty back to easy.

Easy Perfects

This trick is easiest when done with Legolas because of the way he moves. After you get to level 8, purchase Elrond's, Islidur's, or Balin's Judgment. Work on using it and getting very proficient with it. After mastering it, go to any level you want to get a Perfect on. This will not work every time, but if you can kill two enemies using the Judgment, you can usually get a perfect devastating sword. After you get this, go around killing as many enemies as possible, then repeat.

Easy 'Excellent' rank

When you can play levels over again, use this trick. It will take several attempts, depending on your skill. In all of the levels (excluding Weathertop, Amon Hen, Plains of Rohan, Breached Wall, and the Helms Deep), you can complete the level with an 'Excellent' rank, just by killing one or two Orcs, and getting 'Excellent'. Kill a few Orcs at the beginning of the level (five or more), getting an 'Excellent' rank. Then, run near to the end of the level. For example, in the Gates of Moria level kill off the first few Orcs with your Linked Move until the intermission sequence with the arrow and the Orc and Gimli. Then, run to the part where you need to kill the Watcher, and do not kill any Orcs on the way, unless you have to. No orcs will follow you to the Boss part after you have started it. Kill the Watcher. When your kills get counted, as you will see, you will have more 'Excellent' kills.

Putting out fires

Many parts of the game will require you to put out a fire or save people in order to move on to the next area. Look for a barrel in the area of the fire. Smash it with a speed attack and water will flow out, extinguishing any fires it can.

Defeating Lurtz (as Aragorn)

Lurts starts by shooting arrows. Deflect them with your sword then fire a charged arrow at him. Keep repeating this until the intermission sequence where he grabs a sword from the ground begins. When he charges you, kill the minions that appear and try to hide behind one of the marble statues surrounding the arena. He will stab it, stick in, then be open for an attack. Use the Triangle thrust. Normally, two shots can be dealt and sometimes a third if you are lucky. Note: This is on the easy and normal difficulty setting. Also, when he rips his sword from the marble statue, it disintegrates, dropping health, arrows or other useful items.

Defeating the Orc Overseer riding the Warg

Take care of the Wargs and riders that are present when the battle starts. The Wargs charge, but just step out of the way. Fierce Attack as they pass and stop. Soon, you will be facing just the Orc Overseer on his Warg, who deflects every arrow with his sword. Close attacks are similarly foiled by the Warg biting you, lifting you into the air, and the Overseer slashes at you. He also charges, and the Warg swerves to hit you, and succeeds virtually every time, so take care of him as soon as possible. The Overseer regularly calls another Orc and Warg into the battle. Dispatch it in the same way as the others, but try to stay close to the Overseer. When you kill the summoned Orc and Warg, the Overseer's Warg rears up. When it does, run in behind it and Fierce Attack the Orc. You can usually get three good hits on him this way. After the third hit, he will slash you -- go back and wait for the next Orc and Warg to be summoned. Dispatch them and wait for the Overseer's Warg to rear again. Repeat this three to four times to defeat him.

When you first encounter the Orc Overseer, he will have approximately four other Warg Riders with him. Dispatch these using any means necessary (projectile attacks work well), then get ready for the Overseer himself. Do not get too close or the Warg will bite you and the Orc riding it will slash you. Stay a safe distance away and the Overseer will charge. Parry the charge and you will receive little, if any, damage. Successfully parry a second charge and the Warg will back away and rear up on its hind legs. Move in and use any of the attack combinations to cause damage. Occasionally the Overseer will call in another Warg to help. Fire projectiles at this 'helper' to eliminate it. Continue to parry the Overseer's charges. It will rear up after every second charge, at which time you can move in and eliminate him.

When you first see the Orc Overeseer, he will have about four other allies with him. These are easy to kill. Do so, and you will face the Orc Overseer. You cannot shoot him, because he deflects your arrows/axes, and you cannot attack him because his Warg will bite and lift you into the air for the Orc Overseer to slash. He will charge at you. Parry those attacks. After about two charges, he will rear his Warg. Instead of going behind at this point, shoot it with an axe/arrow. It will fall and whine. Then, move in and slash the overseer with fierce attacks, combos, etc. This takes about half of his life away. He will send in a warg ally, which is useful. Whenever you kill him, he will drop arrows or life. Repeat this process until you win.

Defeating Trolls

Lord Of The Rings Two Towers Gamecube

In the levels with Trolls, you can kill them easily without getting hit once. Run up to a Troll after it has thrown a log at you or tried to hit you. Press Triangle once only, then run away. Do not run too far. Stay close, but not too close for it to hit you. Wait until it takes a swipe at you, then run back at it and press Triangle once again. Repeat this until it is dead.

Lord Of The Rings Two Towers Gamecube Cheats

The Lord of the Rings trilogy of movies have been insanely successful because their dark, mystic, exotic collection of otherworldly tree creatures, Orcs, Goblins, Elves, and Men alike -- seized us from our mundane everyday and led us to their world of alien grandeur that was not so much unlike our own world at its fragile, battle-weary heart. Middle-Earth's savage truth and gentle realities both, claimed our attention effortlessly and held fast with a good-triumphing-over-evil storyline that seemed not only a richly satisfying outcome, but the sole acceptable one.
The trouble with The Two Towers, which chronicles the middle chapter (beginning with Frodo still in the care of The Fellowship) of the series, is that it pays so much obvious loving attention to the movie it is borne of, that the gameplay elements seem an afterthought, left under-ripe and wholly unsatisfying. Powerful cinematic moments such as The Battle at Helm's Deep are reduced to novelty, superfluous small screen re-enactments followed up rather clumsily by limited, repetitive Golden Axe-esque gameplay. You'll remember Golden Axe? Perhaps not -- it's a very old game. It featured three characters: one fast, one strong, and one in-between. And so, meet Legolas, Gimli, and Aragorn.
Tragically, Sega's old arcade favourite may even surpass TTT in terms of depth of gameplay, as that game's magic gauge building system works better than the buy-in leveling up at work here -- and it's two-player action to TTT's lonely undertaking! Each of TTT's three heroes is scored on the quality of his killing throughout the levels. With each murder, a rating will appear, ranging from 'fair' to 'perfect'. Should you attack in a fashion the game deems cowardly or unskilled, your ratings will reflect that, and your points (used to purchase special skills between stages) will reflect that. This seems perfectly acceptable until you figure out what sorts of kills the game respects. Fancy using Legolas? Certainly; his bow and arrow attacks are easily the game's greatest draw because by comparison, hack and slashing adventures are a dime a dozen. Realize with some disdain, that employing his bow with relish will lead to copious 'fairs' and inversely proportionate credits to spend on improving him. In other words, the game punishes you for having the most fun you can have with it.
TTT coaxes you to engage in overcrowded scrums with shield bearing Orcs and long blade wielding Urak-Hai who will surely cut you down -- unless you've earned the impressive looking melee-ready special skills. But, ironically enough, these skills that are so critical to crowd control require you to almost commit suicide in amongst those same crowds to earn enough 'excellents' or whatever, to buy them in the first place. Make sense? No? Well, of course not.
Your heart, like mine, will sink on countless occasions as beautiful moments lifted directly and remarkably from the film are transitioned smoothly into game CGI, and then into actual game sequences. The atmosphere-setting is magnificent, from the darting through Amon Hen in the scorching day, to holding Helm's Deep in the rainy dark -- the black shapes of Urak-Hai and giant Cave Trolls bobbing ominously over the fog-blanketed panorama. The sounds of battle -- swords rending air and splintering wooden shields -- and the thundering music quickens your gaming pulse.
You find a sweet vantage point to begin picking foes off at will with your bow. Aiming is easy and intuitive, and soon your kill count grows. You can't just turtle here completely; some dark nasty of Sarumon's pale molding hand will seek you out soon enough, so you'll have to scurry, finding extra arrows and replenishing vitality dropped by slain foes along the way.
But this can't go on. If the blow your pride takes from receiving countless 'fair' ratings doesn't make you cry out 'fine, you bastards, I'll mix it up with you if you want a piece o' me so bad!', then the game's mounting focus on urgency will. Later levels simply won't stand for hit-and-run or long distance approaches because you'll be expected to defend a door, or else a wall, and nothing but the most aggressive, insane hacking and slashing will see your objectives completed.
The sheer excellence of TTT's presentation escapes your discerning love, gone up in smoke with the mindless button pressing reminiscent of certain old school arcade games. For argument's sake, let's assume you somehow manage to accrue enough scratch to add specials such as the stylishly named Isildur's Judgment or Elrond's Judgment to your arsenal of under-whelming normal moves. Even though the game tells you what sequence of button presses effect the specials, grinding them out with consistency is inexcusably ponderous. I found that I had more luck with some moves by just pounding whichever two or three buttons were involved completely randomly, than to hit them precisely in the correct order.
Thus, special moves or no -- recreated Peter Jackson cinematic magic or no -- The Two Towers is a tedious button pounder. It's a horrible, horrible shame that such an arrestingly magical game should function in such an off-putting, clunky and inconsistent fashion. Recommended for die-hard fans of the movies only, so that they may play out their favourite moments -- their love is such that they may see past the limited, archaic tedium of it all -- leave them to it.
